Hi, I’m Jill—blogger, wellness guide, and retired nurse with a passion for sharing the real stuff that makes life meaningful.
With a nursing career spanning over 50 years, I’ve had the privilege of working across a wide range of healthcare settings—from busy metropolitan hospitals to the remote corners of Queensland. My professional journey includes General Nursing, Psychiatric Nursing, Tertiary Nursing Studies, and Midwifery—my personal favourite. Supporting mothers and bringing new life into the world has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life.
I completed a Lifestyle Coaching Diploma, which was a natural next step and beautifully aligned with my long-time passion for holistic health. These days, I work from a Wellness and Health model, which considers the whole person—mind, body, and spirit. Unlike traditional medical or mental health frameworks,
I believe many lifestyle challenges and adjustment issues don’t need a diagnosis. With support, perspective, and practical tools, they can be navigated gently and effectively.

While I absolutely encourage professional support when needed, I’ve witnessed firsthand the life-changing power of wellness-based approaches—and that’s the space I love working in.
Beyond nursing, I’ve always made room for things that spark joy. I’ve been a triathlete for most of my life, representing Australia in international races. In the 1980s, I ran my first (and only!) marathon—back when there were only a few women on the start line.
More recently, I’ve taken up long-distance walking and love keeping fit with my home gym.
I also find joy in crafting, cooking, and getting away in our caravan—embracing the freedom and clarity that comes with life on the road.
Life brings highs and lows—we all have our share. If my stories, experiences, and reflections can help even one person feel more seen, inspired, or supported, then this blog has done its job.
Thank you for visiting. I’d love to hear your story—feel free to send me an email anytime.
