About Me

Helping People Live, Travel and Thrive with Confidence

I’m Jill — known to my readers as Jillie — and I write practical, encouraging companions for life’s journeys.

Some of those journeys happen on the open road, towing a caravan for the first time. Some happen in the back seat, trying to keep kids happy on a long drive. And some happen quietly, in the everyday moments where we’re just trying to feel a little calmer and more capable.

That’s what ties everything I create together:

🌿 Women Who Tow Collection — helping women feel calm, capable and confident behind the wheel.

🚗 Calm Back Seat Series — helping families create happier, calmer road trips.

🌸 Wellness & Confidence Collection — helping people care for themselves through practical, encouraging books.

Different subjects. Same purpose: to help you close the book — or finish the article — thinking, “I think I can do this.”

Where it comes from

Before any of this, I spent over 50 years as a nurse — across General Nursing, Psychiatric Nursing, Tertiary Nursing Studies, and Midwifery, my personal favourite. I worked everywhere from busy metropolitan hospitals to remote corners of Queensland, and later completed a Lifestyle Coaching Diploma that shaped how I think about wellbeing today: as a whole-person thing — mind, body and spirit — not something that always needs a diagnosis to be worth taking seriously.

I’ve also been a triathlete for most of my life, representing Australia in international races, run a marathon back when there were only a handful of women on the start line, and more recently taken up long-distance walking. These days you’ll usually find me with my home gym, my crafting table, or getting away in our caravan — which is where a lot of this began.

I’m not writing from a stage. I’m writing beside you, as someone who’s been there too. If my stories, my books, or this blog can help even one person feel more seen, more confident, or a little more capable — then it’s done its job.

My books
